Microbase — the foundation
every microcement floor is built on.

Microbase is the structural undercoat of KCBerry's six-system range — a primer and fibre-reinforced microcement undercoat designed to bond directly to tile, plaster, concrete, screed, plywood and MDF. Two thin coats with an embedded fibreglass mesh form a flat, crack-resistant 1–2 mm base for every KCBerry finish: Microtraffic, Micronoslip, Poolcement, Microfinishing and Pure Lime. It's what allows a microcement renovation to happen without demolition — and the finish to stay flawless for decades. Delivered UK-wide.

§ 01 · Where it's used

Bonds to
almost any surface.

Microbase is the first layer of every KCBerry project. It levels tile, ceramic, mosaic, natural stone, cement screed, concrete slabs, plaster, plasterboard, plywood and MDF — indoors and outdoors — and forms the mesh-reinforced undercoat onto which a Microtraffic floor, a Micronoslip shower, a Poolcement pool lining or a Microfinishing wall is then applied. This is why a bathroom or kitchen can be renovated in microcement without demolition, and why the finish stays crack-free despite seasonal movement in the substrate beneath it.

§ 02 · Compatibility

The base beneath
all five finishes.

One base, five finishes. The same fibre-reinforced Microbase sits beneath Microtraffic for kitchen and living-room floors, beneath Micronoslip for showers, pool surrounds and terraces, beneath Poolcement for fully submerged pools and spas, beneath Microfinishing for walls, ceilings and low-traffic floors, and beneath Pure Lime for breathable, mineral lime interiors. Because the undercoat is identical across every system, a project can move from a kitchen floor to a shower tray to an accent wall in one continuous mineral surface, matched in colour and level.

§ 03 · Application & coverage

Two thin trowelled coats with an embedded fibreglass mesh, 6 to 12 h recoat time, roughly 1.2 kg/m² per coat — a 20 kg bag covers roughly 8 to 10 m² of finished substrate, ready for the finish the next working day.

§ 04 · Pricing

Honest, detailed
pricing.

Microbase is priced by the bag and by m² of coverage. In materials alone, the undercoat (bag, primer, mesh) is in the order of £18 to £28 per m²materials only, excluding installation. We supply materials only: our quotes never include installation. That is commissioned and invoiced directly by the installer of your choice, whose rates we don't control. That said, a materials quote almost always pairs Microbase with your chosen finish — Microtraffic, Micronoslip, Poolcement, Microfinishing or Pure Lime.

Every project is priced individually after a short remote conversation about the installation, so the figure you're quoted is the figure you pay. See the full pricing page for a breakdown of tiers, or request a free quote below.
