What is Microcement?

FAQ – Microcement is a relatively recent cementitious decorative coating material, its characteristics are still unknown to most professionals and the general public.

What are the Microcement benefits in remodeling?

FAQ – How to clean Microcement?

The maintenance of Microcement is very simple, water and neutral soap or products with neutral pH. Don’t use abrasive or corrosive products. For this maintenance the use of any machinery isn’t necessary since all these products can be applied to the mop. The frequency will depend on use, but it is the same with that cleans any deck.

Is the Microcement daily use resistant?

The lacquer or wax applied in two or three coats, make Microcement scratch, shock, stain and wear resistant. The cleaning and maintenance will determine the durability of the materials.

As such, we apply Microcement in commercial spaces, where the wear is quite high.

FAQ – Does the Microcement crack?

The Microcement is a single, continuous coating without expansion joints since they are able to achieve a balance between hardness and flexibility in a pavement with these characteristics.

How to make the Microcement maintenance?

Once protected by varnish, maintenance is done regularly with appropriate products neutral pH. Should be avoided products containing flax oil (like black soap). Anti-scale chemicals also damage the surfaces. Citric acid can be used to combat  calcareous traces.

FAQ – Which surfaces Microcement can be applied?

We can apply this coating on almost any material – plaster, plasterboard, all kinds of mortar, tiles, bricks, marbles, stones, etc. Microcement can not be applied on wooden parquet because the wood expansion coefficient is much bigger than the Microcement.

How long application of Microcement takes?

Although the applying Microcement process be complicated by the number of layers that arise, a well-trained good professional is able to apply up to 50 m² per working day and the time of application lower than normal.

Can Microcement be applied in stairs?

Yes, Microcement can be applied on stairs without any problem. The versatility of the product is such that it can even be applied in certain pieces of furniture. The stairs should be put up metal bracket that can be incorporated into the internal or external screed as a decorative detail.

FAQ – Can Microcement be applied over tiles?
