Pure Lime is the traditional finish in the KCBerry range — a hand-trowelled mineral lime plaster in 33 muted shades. Unlike our polymer-bonded microcement systems, Pure Lime is fully vapour-permeable: it lets old stone, brick and cob breathe, regulates interior humidity and is intended for characterful houses where a cement-based finish would trap moisture. Pure Lime is recommended for old and characterful buildings — townhouses, stone and rubble farmhouses, brick houses, cob walls, and any structure originally built with lime mortar. It is the right interior finish for bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, studies, dining rooms and period bathrooms, and is compatible with existing lime renders and washes. It is also chosen for new builds when the client wants a natural, non-plastic, hand-worked wall with a softer palette than the 73 shades of microcement. The standard Pure Lime finishes (Base PURE, Finishing PURE) are wall finishes — for a lime floor in a dry, high-traffic area, specify Traffic PURE, the floor variant of the Pure Lime system. Immersed pools and heavily abraded commercial floors remain outside the lime range and belong to KCBerry microcement systems.

Microcement (systems 01–05) is a modern polymer-bonded composite: dense, protected by a two-part polyurethane varnish, designed for floors, wet areas and pools. It is impermeable, hard-wearing and available in 73 shades. Pure Lime is the opposite specification — a traditional aerial-lime plaster, vapour-permeable, unsealed, hand-trowelled in 33 mineral shades. The general rule: wet areas and pools always belong to microcement; walls default to Pure Lime on old stone, brick, cob or lime-built structures, to let the wall breathe; and when a floor is needed within the lime range, Traffic PURE is the floor variant. In a period-building renovation the two families often coexist — Pure Lime on the original walls, Microtraffic or Microfinishing in the new extension.
Two to three coats trowelled by hand over a mineral bonding primer, recoat time 24–48 h, finished raw or with a breathable mineral finishing layer — hardens gradually over the years and lasts for decades. 5-year guarantee on systems installed by a professional.
